Our network of Montana ranchers and farmers represents the best of local agriculture—producers who believe that doing things the right way is the only way. They grow vegetables and raise cattle, sheep, and poultry using sustainable practices that protect water, soil, and habitat.
We visit every partner operation and maintain close relationships to ensure transparency and trust. These are hardworking families who take pride in their herds and their land—and it shows in the quality of every cut we deliver.

Chefs need quality products, reliably supplied at a price that makes sense. We work closely with both producers and buyers to meet those needs without compromising our commitment to sustainability.
And with our network of trusted producers, we’re able to source specialty and custom items, from hard-to-find cuts and heirloom varietals to proprietary sausage blends.
Montana producers were raising exceptional meat and restaurants were eager to buy it, but getting that product to kitchens across our vast rural state was no small challenge. Timing, consistency, and pricing, all stood in the way— not to mention hundreds of miles of rural highways and ranch roads. We founded Montana Local Foods to bridge that gap, and move food thoughtfully and efficiently from the people who produce it to the folks who prepare it.
Our company is rooted in transparency and collaboration. We work closely with producers to set prices that support sustainable ranching while remaining accessible to restaurants and institutions. Chefs know they can depend on us to reliably deliver the highest-quality ingredients. Our goal isn’t maximum profit, but long-term relationships that foster agricultural and economic sustainability.
Thanks to these partnerships (and with the help of our refrigerated trucks and distribution center) Montana Local Food collects meat and vegetables directly from producers and delivers them throughout the region every day of the week. We keep our operation lean, ensuring Montana-raised food is a viable option for school cafeterias, neighborhood eateries, and fine dining alike—
because good local food is good for all.
